I’m one run into the day. The first was…shaky to say the least. My legs felt like doo doo, so naturally I went faster to push through and get home. That makes sense, right? Sometimes I literally turn into an idiot when I’m running.
Last night, the crazies of the greater Little Rock area united to take part in a little run. And by a little run, I of course mean, a 25k/50k at Lake Sylvia! Normal people go to bars or the movies or something on a Saturday evening. Who needs normal anyways? It was a neat/different experience running with a head lamp, as we runners were plummeted into darkness somewhere around six miles. Having borrowed my lamp from Nick, naturally I didn’t make sure it was adjusted to fit me, or perhaps lamps normally fall down one’s forehead in the most annoyingly aggravating manner possible. Regardless, I was forced to stretch the head band around my hips. This, of course, made the generally steady beam of light that the lamp would emit when affixed to someone’s head, turn into a bobbing and swaying light show on my hips. Hooray for lady hips! Note to self: purchase a lamp. It was definitely cool running in the dark and actually being able to see. All in all, it was a very fun run among friends. To show how absolutely cool the running community is, the finish line was a makeshift line of glow sticks. Ballin’!
